Defending Your Blinds
September 7, 2008 - 3:53amThe blinds drive the action in no-limit hold 'em. When you post your blinds, your opponents will be looking for opportunities to attack them. Some attack by raising pre-flop; others by limping and trying to take you out after the flop. Of the two, the players who attack your blinds by raising pre-flop will be much more problematic to you when you're in the blinds. When a particular opponent raises incessantly to steal your blinds, it's natural to think that you need to begin doing something to slow the blind stealer down, and two options are available to you:

Dublin-->Amsterdam-->Moscow
November 27, 2005 - 4:53amThe European Poker Circuit, such as it is, continues to grow apace. Last weekend it was Dublin, for the EPT. Sadly, despite Dublin being home from home to many Americans, there was only a very small American interest, with one US of A guy, a Mr Jared Javis, earning a minor cash in 21st place. Late season EPT's in Copenhagen, Deauville and Monte Carlo are well worth you guys plundering, they have good clocks and structures, in excellent venues, measured even by your standards.
The Word from the EPT
November 17, 2005 - 4:53amThe European Poker Tour (EPT), the nearest we have to the wonderful WPT, has now had 3 events in Season 2.
We reported on the season opener in Barcelona previously - suffice to say, the less said about that, the better.

November 3, 2005 - 4:53amIn my previous missive from the other side of the Atlantic, I promised to let you now how the American visitors fared when they came across to Barcelona, for the Spanish leg of the European Poker Tour (EPT).

October 19, 2005 - 3:53am...Everyone calls me "tikay" & I am delighted that I have been asked to contribute to Poker Player, the type of publication that we in Europe yearn for.
A few words about me first, so you know what you have got. Retired businessman, single, I just play & write about poker these days, and I am the Presenter of a TV show - Poker 425 - which airs 7 nights a week in Europe. And I am a partner in a Poker News Website, for which I produce the content, my other half being Dave "El Blondie" Colclough, whom I consider to be Europe's finest player.
