2014 WSOP Event #20 $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout

by Joseph Smith Sr.

Another first time bracelet winner at the 2014 WSOP happening now at the Rio in Las Vegas.  Kory Kilpatrick from Athens, Georgia walked away from the final table in Event #20 with $254,891 in cash and his first WSOP bracelet after sending second place finisher Eric Wasserman to the rail.

Kory Kilpatrick began the day of the final table in the middle of the pack which included three former WSOP bracelet winners.  None of the previous bracelet winners—Taylor Paur, Phil Gilford or Chris Bell---made it past 5th place.

This final table took more than six hours to eliminate two players.  The players traded chips for the first three hours before Narendra Banwari was eliminated in tenth place.  They played on nine-handed for more than three hours before Dylan Linde was out in the ninth spot.  Then the dominoes began to fall and players were rapidly eliminated until just one had chips and a chair, Kory Kilpatrick.

Event #20, a $3K buy-in No-Limit Hold'em Shootout contest attracted a crowd of 389 players and offered a prize pool totaling $1,061,970 split among the top 40 finishers.

The following lists the final table order of finish and prize money paid out to each player.

  1. Kory Kilpatrick------ $254,891

  2. Eric Wasserson------- $157,490

  3. Noah Bronstein------- $115,659

  4. Jack Duong ----------- $85,616

  5. Chris Bell ------------- $63,877

  6. Phil Galfond ---------- $48,043

  7. Taylor Paur------------ $36,414

  8. Michael Stonehill ---- $27,812

  9. Dylan Linde----------- $21,409

  10. Narendra Banwari --- $16,609

Congratulations to Kory Kilpatrick for his first WSOP gold bracelet and win in 2014 event #20 $3,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em Shootout.
