Since it is easier to observe others flawed behavior, I am merely going to point out some glaring weaknesses I see in others - predominantly in the casino realm. We are all -to some degree - aware that the losses that we incur during the course of a gambling session, rooted in the same losing soil, so why not make a conscientious effort to stop the crying!
I for one, am low tolerant for stupid play that causes me to lose, however, I have made a conscientious effort to focus on more warranted stress. An example of warranted stress: someone owes you money, then phones you to say; they will not be able to pay you today, because something came up.
Even though they had promised that monies would be forthcoming on this particular day, since they did phone you, you allow them a pass; let them slide. You must now make up the difference on a bill - that had the addition of their monies included. Fine, no problem, things happen. But wait, later on that evening you observe this same person - at an out of the way casino, in street parlance; getting' their gamble on! Now, it is time to bring the stress buttons up to their proper level. This is Captain Kirk here, warps speed ahead! Therefore, you roll up to this person to give them a little bit of life's information. "Why you dirty #@$#%$#, I don't want to hear nuthin' "bout nuthin', just break some kind of bread! Needless to say, breaking of bread is mandatory for this person, if they want to continue to gamble in peace. Because if they don't, they'll be game stoppage, floor man interruptions, security attendance, as well as management alerting of the highest order, on mines! Ok, I had to get that off my chest. You see, it's the small stuff that we collectively must let go of, in order to address these culprits that would seize the opportunity to exploit the fact that all that energy spent on bad beats has left you exhausted and drained, so now you need a nap, too tire to go to the other casino to catch ol' boy, or girl getting' their gamble on. So now, these culprits are sitting in the big game relaxing, drinkin' cokes and tellin' jokes, while you are headache bound at the house oblivious - as Bernie Mac would say, "to the goings on" with ol' boy or ol' girl that got jo' money!
See if you can do this; since you are not going to win every hand anyway, try not reacting to a horrendous beat placed upon you by the daily numbskull. In addition, do not tell anybody else about it. Just shrug it off as what it really is in the big picture, a small consequence of life. Because I'm here to tell you, some really big #$$% could be waiting for you. Hopefully, you won't have to experience some real devastating loss in order to appreciate how insignificant one poker hand loss really is.
Finally, take a look around before you react to that thing that seems so insurmountable that you need to tell someone else, chances are; it pales in comparison to the phone call the winner received before you went on that tantrum; something about...hospital...emergency. So stop the crying - as my father used to say when I was little - "or you may get something to cry about!"
