All-in Northwest: Summer Fun

by A. C. Clark
Plenty of poker is available in and around the Northwest. With Lucky Chance’s Battle of the Bay in the books, the best jackpots in the Bay Area are still Lucky Chance’s daily tournaments: $10k first place guarantee no-limit hold’em on Sundays, $3500 first place guarantees on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and $6k on Tuesdays through the month of July. Another California attraction is Bay 101, and their Bay 101 Open in August for eight consecutive days, the 20th- 27th.

Up the road in Oregon, with $20k added in cash and prizes, plan a summer getaway for the Summer Poker Rodeo at the Wildhorse Resort & Casino July 18th-22nd. Buy-ins range from $50 to $200 with $1k to $4k added daily to each of these no-limit and turbo no-limit hold’em games. Starting chips are either 5k or 10k and action begins at either noon or 7:00 p.m. Wildhorse has a hotel, Cineplex, golf course, dining and nightlife. Don’t pass up the Pendleton Whiskey steak at the Plateau (fine dining).

Washington’s premier resort and conference destination north of Seattle, the Tulalip Resort Casino, offers the best odds, best variety and selection of games, and the best cashback of any casino. There are daily morning no-limit hold’em tournaments with $500 added, Monday- Friday at 10:30, buy-in is only $20. Saturdays at 11:00 a.m, $1k is added for a $100 buy-in.

Not only will you find the largest non-smoking poker room in the state at the Muckleshoot Casino (south of Seattle) but also tableside food service, and your very own poker bar. New bounty tournaments are every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Players receive a $25 bounty for every player knocked out. $100 buyin for 10k in chips—no rebuys, no add-ons, no alternates…I like that! Sign-ups begin at 6:00 p.m. and I’m sure it fills quickly, so get there early and play for a chance at the $500k Super Bad Beat Jackpot. In addition, Saturday Texas Hold’em tournaments are at noon, $45 buy-in with $20 rebuys, and $20 add-ons. Sign-ups begin at 11:30 a.m.

For the best action in the state of Washington, Diamond Lil’s has 11 Texas Hold’em tables, and 12 Monte Carlo hands to hit daily. Limits are $3-$6, $4-$8, $8-$16 and $20-$40 with $200 high hand giveaways every two hours. Diamond Lil’s is located in Renton, just east of Seattle.

All-in Tip: Mark your calendar for July 29th. Tulalip Resort Casino’s More Bang for your Buck starts at 11:00 a.m. It’s a $220 buy-in for 15k in tournament chips with 30-minute rounds and $20 bounties; re-entries and alternates are allowed for four rounds. This should be big with a hefty payout.
