Alongside Jason Alexander was Dianna Donofrio-Trigatzi, Nevada's State Director for the Poker Player's Alliance, serving as Celebrity TD for the event. Bo Safrang, CEO, DG Holdings Group, came in as the grand prize winner, taking home a beautiful ECO-friendly poker table created by EGM Green, founder Eric Hansel. Safrang and second place winner Bruce Buffer, UFC Ringside announcer chopped the $10,000 first place prize money and generously donated a considerable sum back to the charity. During the event a silent and live auction helped raise $85,000.

"Our programs literally save the lives of thousands of victims who have suffered the devastation of domestic violence. I Can Top That! I wrote about Rick Gianti Sr. making two royal flushes in 11 minutes in a previous issue of Poker Player Newspaper and received the following emails.

I think I can top that. About a year ago, a regular at my local cardroom made royal flushes in consecutive hands. Both times, both of his hole cards played, and amazingly, were in the same suit. I've done some quick math on this, and believe the odds to be in the hundreds of billions to one-so rare that it's likely that this has happened only once in the history of poker.

There were six players at the table. I was in the three seat and looked down at A-Q of spades. I opened with a small raise, and was called by a few of the players. The flop included the K-10 of spades. The turn was a jack of spades for the royal. The next day, about 2:45 p.m., 15 minutes earlier than the day before, same table, again seat 3, with about the same players as the day before and I look down to see the A-Q of spades. The flop again was K-10 of spades, and two of the players at the table said "Oh, I suppose you're going to hit another royal flush." Yes, the turn again was the jack of spades, an exact duplicate of the day before in the same order. When you talk about odds, this has to be the most bizarre ever.

Hi Debbie, I can't believe with all the math people of poker surrounding you that none of them know the answer the odds don't change with that guy getting another royal flush, the probability changes. Mr. Gianti, got a royal at say 680,000-to-1. The next royal he gets, whether or not it's the next hand, is still 680,000-to-1. Now if he hasn't gotten the first royal yet and you say what's odds of getting back to back royals well now its 680,000 squared, 680,000 x 680,000, or 40,000,000-to-1. Hope this explains it all.
