Debbie Does Poker: Southpoint, Buffalo Thunder, Wynn

Qualify for the $100,000 Freeroll at Southpoint. Play 99 hours of live poker from March thru May to qualify. The top 40 places will receive cash with first place taking home $30,000 and 40th place receiving $300.

Sunday nights at 6 p.m. on March 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 is reserved for a "Ladies Only" limit hold 'em tournament. The ladies will receive $2,000 in starting chips for a $45 buy-in and an extra $500 in chips with a $5 donation for the staff.

A deep stack no-limit hold 'em event is scheduled for 6 p.m. March 11. Players receive $10,000 in starting chips for a $330 buy-in and one $10 add-on will be offered for an additional $2,500 in chips.

Tournaments are offered daily at Southpoint:

• Monday-Sunday, $45 buy-in no-limit at 10 a.m. Players receive $2,000 in chips. Registration begins at 8 a.m.

• Monday, no-limit, $65 buy-in. Players receive $3,000 in chips.

• Tuesday, no-limit $75 buy-in. Players receive $4,000 in chips with one option $5 add-on for an additional $1,000 in chips.

• Wednesday, no-limit, $65 buy-in. Players receive $3,000 in starting chips. One $20 re-buy is offered during the first hour for an additional $1,000 in chips.

• Thursday, no-limit hold 'em, $100 buy-in. Players receive $5,000 in starting chips. All of the above events, unless otherwise noted, begin at 7 p.m. Registration begins at 5 p.m. and all events are limited to 40 players. World Series of Poker Qualifiers held at Buffalo Thunder. The buy-in is $440 and qualifiers are held the second Sunday of each month, March 8, April 12, and May 10. The event begins at 4:30 p.m. with 30 minute levels and $5,000 in starting chips. Ten percent of the field will cash with the winner receiving one or more WSOP entries.

The Second Annual Boys & Girls Club Benefit Tournament is scheduled for Friday, May 15. The buy-in is $60 with $30 going to the Boys & Girls Club of Pojoaque and $25 to the prize pool. Unlimited $20 re-buys during the first two rounds, split evenly between the charity and the prize pool. $25K guaranteed free-roll is scheduled for May 16 & 17. Play 250 hours of live poker to qualify between December-April 30.

Qualifying for the 2009 March Madness Bracket Contest has begun. The poker room will hold three drawings during the NCAA basketball championship. Each drawing will coincide with one weekend of the NCAA tournament. To qualify for the first drawing, players must play a minimum of 50 hours from February 1-March 14. To qualify for the second drawing, players must play a minimum of 12 hours from March 15-March 21, and to qualify for the third drawing, players must play a minimum of 12 hours from March 22-March 28. Three weekly winners will receive; $100 for first place, $75 for second place and $50 will be awarded to third place. In addition, three overall winners will receive $1,000 for first place, $500 for second place, and $250 for third place. Correction: Last issue I mistakenly reported that the opening event of the Wynn Classic would begin at 7 p.m. Actually, all of the daily events begin at noon.
