HARMAN FUNDRAISER ONE OF THE BIGGEST OF THE YEAR

Since the explosion of poker, many a good cause has been helped through fundraiser poker tournaments. Many fundraising events dot the poker calendar, but one in particular that stands out is happening April 18 at the Venetian in Las Vegas. Top player Jennifer Harman is hosting her second annual charity poker tournament to benefit the Nevada SPCA. Everyone who is anyone in the poker world-and hacks like me-will be playing in the poker tournament. HARRAH'S TO BECOME CAESARS ENTERTAINMENT

Harrah's Entertainment, owners and operators of the World Series of Poker, announced that its Board of Directors had approved changing the company's name to Caesars Entertainment Corporation. CEO Gary Loveman said, "Adoption of the name Caesars Entertainment Corporation will provide our company with greater prestige and help attract strategic business partners." Certain casinos will retain the Harrah's brand, and the change will not affect current staff or operations.

WORLD POKER TOUR SEASON VI EPISODES UNDERWAY

Fans of the World Poker Tour are again able to enjoy the newest episodes from the world-roaming series. WPT's sixth season began airing last week on the Game Show Network, the WPT's new home, with 23 stops planned for the Season VI run. Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten reprise their regular roles as the show's commentators, while Layla Kayleigh and Kimberly Lansing join the WPT as hostesses for this season's shows.

JENNICIDE'S PLAYBOY ISSUE OUT-GIVES NEW MEANING TO 'SHOW ONE, SHOW BOTH'

The current issue of Playboy, on the stands now, features professional poker player Jennifer "jennicide" Leigh. Leigh recently did an interview with us at PokerNews where she spoke about the experience of posing for Playboy, as well as urging her peers in the online poker world to be positive when representing the game of poker. "I just think sometimes we're too focused on the negative stuff that goes on in the industry," notes Leigh, who is on a personal crusade to unify players, and bring positive change to the current poker landscape. IS THAT $1-$2 SEAT REALLY WORTH IT?

An argument between 61-year-old Arthur Prince of Toms River, NJ and 57-year-old Vicente Perez of Macon, Georgia escalated into physical violence in the valet parking area near to the poker room at the Taj in Atlantic City. Reports of exact details vary a bit, but most accounts agree that, after going broke, Prince got up to go to the ATM, and asked the dealer to hold his seat. The dealer didn't hear the request, and the seat was filled by Perez. After a confrontation inside, the two men got into another confrontation outside, which resulted in Perez stabbing Prince several times, and Prince's death shortly thereafter. Perez is currently in jail on a $500,000 cash bond after being arrested and charged with three felonies, including aggravated manslaughter.
