Yuvee04 Takes Two FTOPS Titles

Who says lightning doesn't strike twice in the same place? Yuval "yuvee04" Bronshtein accomplished an impressive feat that might never be matched, when he won two FTOPS events... in the same day. Bronshtein is a young player originally from Dunwoody, GA. He made some waves at the 2007 WSOP when he made a final table and finished third in the $2,000 pot-limit hold'em event. He took home over $100,000 during his first WSOP cash. I took note of him for the first time At the Empire Casino in London during the 2007 WSOP-Europe. Bronshtein made the final table of £2,500 HORSE and held his own against some stiff competition including Jennifer Harman, Kirk Morrison, Chris "Jesus" Ferguson, Alexander Kravchenko, and the Hendon Mob's Joe Beevers. He finished in sixth place as he demonstrated his deft ability in mixed games. Bronshtein only cashed in one event at the 2008 WSOP, but he was saving his best poker for FTOPS IX, which was the ninth installment of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series. There were 25 pro-hosted events with $15 million in guaranteed prize money. Bronshtein had one previous FTOPS title under his belt which included a victory in 7-stud/8 in FTOPS VI. Little did Bronshtein know that on Tuesday, August 12, while playing under the screen name of yuvee04, he would win not one, but two FTOPS events and collect over $172,000 in prize money. Event No. 14, $500 + $35 HORSE featured 655 runners. The top 80 were paid. Bronshtein's final table of eight included a tough online shark in Chris "Moormanl" Moorman, while Bryan "badbeatninja" Devonshire busted out on the final table bubble in ninth place. Bronshtein's first place victory paid out $70,412. Event No. 15, $200 + $16 no-limit turbo hold'em started at the same time as Event No. 14, but finished who played Events No. 14 and 15 simultaneously. He blew through the field of 2,472 players. Bronshtein's final table included Mark "newhizzle" Newhouse, but even Newhouse couldn't stop Bronshtein from winning his second FTOPS event of the day and his third overall. First place in Event No. 15 paid almost $102,000. It's an outstanding feat to win just one FTOPS event. But to win multiple events is rare, let alone three. But to successfully navigate two tough fields in a single day and win both while multitabling? That's more than impressive and truly a legendary feat. Definitely keep an eye on Yuval "yuvee04" Bronshtein. In other FTOPS IX news, GetPWN3D won the FTOPS IX leaderboard edging out Yuval "yuvee04" Bronshtein by 61 points. The flamboyant Tony G made some noise when he advanced to the final table in Event No. 22 $2,500 + $120 no-limit hold'em. Tony G finished in sixth place in the two-day deep stacks event which was hosted by Patrik Antonius, as HAAydon emerged victorious in a three-way chop for first place in Event No. 22. And... the $500 + $35 main event included a $2.5 million guarantee that was hosted by Chris "Jesus" Ferguson. The final event attracted 4,880 players and the top 648 won prize money. Busting out just before the final table included 2007 WSOP Main Event final table finisher Lee Childs in eleventh place, and Kelly Kim, sixteenth place, one of the "November Nine" who made the final table of the 2008 WSOP Main Event. Dubbeemin beat valleyho heads up for the victory in the FTOPS championship event. Dubbeemin won $432,400 for first, while valleyho's second place finish was good for $262,500. Though I have been following tournament poker for the last four years, I'm still shocked at those hefty payouts for an online tournament.
