The race to open first was neck and neck between Horseshoe Cleveland and Hollywood Casino in Toledo, Ohio. Horseshoe Cleveland was first with the green light, although Hollywood Toledo will be following close behind with an expected opening in a couple of weeks.
May 14 will see the first of thousands of players expected to rush through the doors at Horseshoe Cleveland. Expectations are very high, with projections of five million customers annually. The $350 million casino will showcase a World Series of Poker room with thirty tables. While playing in this spacious poker room, you will no doubt notice a very tall, six foot five inch gentleman, poker room manager Jeremy Smith, guiding the activities with a quiet confidence.
According to Horseshoe Hammond poker room manager, Jason Newman, “Jeremy has a great knowledge of the game and how a poker room should run from top to bottom. Most importantly, he’s a great guy who truly cares about making people happy.”
Jeremy promises the poker room will be extremely busy, offering a wide variety of limits and variations of different games. “We have gone out of our way to hire exceptional team members, to give great customer service that I know everyone will appreciate,” Jeremy continued.
Prior to the grand opening, six hundred taxi drivers were treated to a tour of Horseshoe Casino, complete with a complimentary meal. Who better to tell the public about the casino, except of course Poker Player Newspaper.
