Please Join me in Welcoming Joe Vigurs as Director of Poker Operations for the Wynn Resort.
Joe’s journey into the poker industry spans three jurisdictions, Connecticut, Florida and Nevada. He began his career at Foxwoods in 1999 as a dealer and quickly advanced to supervisor. He left Connecticut in 2004 for sunny Florida and spent two years dealing and working as a floorman. In 2006 he moved to Las Vegas and opened the Venetian poker room as a supervisor and in no time was promoted to shift manager. Joe’s passion for the game gained him the respect of his superiors and on February 15, 2012 took over the Wynn poker room. Joe has restructured the daily tournaments to be more player-friendly and has equipped every poker table with outlets to accommodate player’s electronic devices. The staff is excited about the new direction in which the poker room is heading and they have embraced Joe’s arrival.
The Wynn Summer Classic began on June 4 and will run through July 6 with buy-ins ranging from $340-$2,600. All tournaments will start at noon and all are re-entry events. All tournaments are two day events with the exception of the three day Championship event. All entrants will receive either a $10 food voucher or a Wynn hat, the $1,070 event entrants will receive two $10 food vouchers and the Championship entrants will receive two $10 food vouchers and a Wynn logoed golf shirt. All final table participants will also receive a golf shirt. The winner of each event will receive a beautiful granite trophy featuring the Wynn building.
The Wynn poker room is located in a quiet but convenient location away from the main casino floor and within steps of the parking garage. For a complete list of events see their ad on page 3 of this issue of Poker Player Newspaper.
