Go Big Or Go Home— Sands Casino to Offer Half Million Dollar Pay-Out!

 By Barbara Rogers

When the Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania decides to put on a major tournament, they do it up big. A half million dollar pay-out is guaranteed for the DeepStack Extravaganza Series, running from December 5th to Dec. 17th. Owned by Las Vegas Sands, this casino is located in the Lehigh Valley region of Eastern Pennsylvania. Now, with its new hotel open, you can explore this interesting structure, and see how the original Bethlehem Steel was converted into a beautiful full scale casino.

The Sands DeepStack Extravaganza with its $500,000 guarantee feature event, has a great structure, that I am positive you will love. Starting out with 30 thousand in chips, the blinds will run 60-90-120 minutes. There are two starting days, December 14th and 15th. See the complete schedule on page 13. Poker room boss, David Urie, explains this tournament is designed to emulate the events at their sister property, Las Vegas Venetian. If you ever have played in Vegas during the World Series, you know just how wildly popular these events at the Venetian are. Everyone talks about the Venetian tournaments and their great blind structure.

The Sands poker room is one of the very few successful open area poker rooms in the country. By volume, they are the Number 3 poker room in the tri-state area. Because of the open room concept and location, they pick up a large amount of players and passersby new to the game. The daily tournaments average 90-100 players per event, so expect a great turnout during the entire duration of this DeepStack Extravaganza.

Sands Casino holds the record so far, for the biggest bad beat jackpot in the state of Pennsylvania, with a payout of $591,000 this past summer. If a half million dollars isn’t reason enough for you play this event at Sands Casino Resort, the bad beat has hit over thirty times since opening day in July 2010, for a total of $4.88 million dollars. Special room rates are available.
