Spring Has Sprung for William Sineath

Poker action returned to MGM Mirage's Beau Rivage in Biloxi with the Spring Break Poker Classic, which ran from March 27 - April 13. Twenty-two tournament events were held over eighteen days with buy-ins from $200 up to $2,500 for the Spring Break Poker Classic Championship Event on April 8.

In addition, daily no-limit hold 'em tournaments, $270 + $30 mega satellites and single table satellites, with buy-ins ranging from $45-$450, were held every day, along with $175 buy-in + $25 nightly tournaments.

Last issue we reported on Events No. 1 - 16, and we have the remainder of the Spring Break Poker Classic coverage here.

Way back in the second event of this series, William Sineath finished quietly in forty-ninth place and won $638 for his efforts. But either the stars aligned differently or he improved dramatically over the next week-and-a-half. In Event No. 17, the $2,500 + $100 main event, Sineath prevailed over a field of 122 players to capture $104,652 for his first place finish. In addition to the cash, Sineath also won a $5,150 seat in the Gulf Coast Poker Championship main event scheduled to take place at Beau Rivage in September 2009.

He triumphed over Nicholas Vita, who won $55,233 for finishing second, while show money went to David Diaz, who took down $34,884 for his third place finish.
